Laurent Tobel has become the sensation of figure skating. He has the distinction of being the tallest male single skater in his sport. It was his height, mixed with humorous programs like " the Pink Panther", and "Swan Lake" that brought attention to his skating. Laurent says he created programs like these to allow the audience to get involved with his performances.

Tobel has retired from the amateur rank and has many offers from professional shows because of his reputation as an incredibly talented showman. At the 1997 World Figure Skating Championships in Lausanne ,Tobel finished 13th , but was asked to perform his "Pink Panther" program in the exhibition skate. An honour usually reserved to the top three or four skaters in each discipline. The same happened at his second and third World Championships.

He was born in June 24 th 1975, in Savigny sur Orge, and by the age of 9 he became the national Novice Gold medalist of France, and subsequently won his second Gold medal the following year. In 1988 he entered the Junior National championships of France and won the silver medal his first year. His dreams came true in 1999 when he became National Champion of France in the Senior's Men competition. Tobel has exceptional talent and skill in figure skating. His height, athleticism and creative genius makes him a star.
